It’s no secret that the very funny and very talented Kristen Bell has some amazing jokes, but did you know that she also has an eye for design? The Bad Moms star recently took to Instagram to announce the lucky designer who will be giving her Los Feliz home a makeover—and we have to say, we’re really impressed with her choice.

While you’ve almost certainly pinned a space or two designed by Amber Lewis before, you’ll also likely recognize her work from right here on Domino. The blogger-turned-entrepreneur behind Amber Interiors—who, frankly, has been winning over our decor-loving hearts since she first started renovating homes back in 2012—is not only a former Domino contributor, but her site was also named the 2017 Best Interior Design Blog for the first-ever Domino Design

blog awards

last year.

Loved for her California eclectic aesthetic and coastal-meets-contemporary style, Lewis seems to be the perfect fit for the job.

“I don’t give a hoot that my husband doesn’t like pink, or that married adults don’t usually sleep in bunk beds,” Bell—clearly taken with this chic child-approved dwelling—wrote on Instagram. “I’m so freaking excited to have the actual real life @amberinteriors (who designed this perfect room) helping me with my new house!!”

We can only assume Bell’s talking about her charming estate in the star-studded Los Feliz neighborhood of

laughlin park

which she and husband Dax Shepard snagged for a cool $4.3 million back in September. Though rich with character (the house was built in 1922 by the same architect who designed the Playboy Mansion), the secluded, semi-dated property is in dire need of a modern refresh.

Given our serious design crush and borderline obsession with Lewis’s work, we couldn’t resist dreaming up how she might plan on redesigning Bell’s new spread. Drawing from her past projects, we’re confident the designer will bring her unwavering SoCal spirit to the table. And since her business is primarily centered around ground-up construction and extensive renovations, we’re expecting she’ll pull out all the stops for her star client… starting with the kitchen.

FYI: California living is all about sun and light—even when you’re hanging out inside. To match Bell’s bright and bubbly personality, it would seem only fitting that Lewis build her a kitchen that is just as happy as she is.

After ridding the couple’s current kitchen of its mustard yellow hue and awkward layout, we expect she’ll opt for equally sleek marble counters, boldly painted cabinetry, and, of course, an eye-catching oven—just as she did with this dreamy cookhouse designed for a client in Ojai, CA.

To say Lewis has a thing for organic materials would be an understatement. While the designer’s coastal upbringing certainly informs her work, you might want to think twice before labeling her signature style “beachy.” Inspired by alternate natural landscapes and earthy textiles, the LA-based designer seems to have perfected the art of blending the rustic with the contemporary.

Given Bell’s relaxed, yet polished style, we have a hunch the Michigan native will be on board for a whitewashed scheme. An entryway bench—much like this simple wood number—where the duo’s little ones can dump their daily gear is probably also on her must-have list.

A master at mixing prints, we’d hire Lewis for her pillow layering skills alone. Considering the power couple is fairly new to the exclusive neighborhood (Ashley Benson, Emma Roberts, Natalie Portman, and Jason Segel have also called the area home), we’ll bet anything that the pair will be doing plenty of entertaining post-remodel. What better way to ensure guests feel right at home than by asking them to sink back into a plush pile of vibrant, textured pillows?

When you consider the red carpet your second home, having a bathroom where you can prep and beautify with ease is a necessity. Adding extra storage, hiding the toilet with pocket doors, and incorporating dark bursts of color are just a few ways Lewis goes about creating a clean and creative bathroom.

Want to bring Lewis’s sought after style home? Her Calabasas store, Shoppe, is fully stocked with all the home goodies you’d ever need to recreate her celeb-approved aesthetic on your own.
