Ariana Grande likes to look at things from a different perspective—and she’s even applying that attitude to her Christmas decorations. The “Thank U, Next” singer—who also has two holiday-themed EPs under her belt—has revealed her Christmas tree on Instagram, and it’s nothing short of untraditional.

Her tree hangs upside down from the ceiling, and it’s complete with white lights, ornaments, and a star that still manages to stay put. The Billboard Woman of the Year has embraced an upside-down motif ever since the release of her single, “No Tears Left to Cry,” back in April, using an upside-down font in Instagram captions and even staging a few other topsy-turvy rooms—including one in the recent New York City Spotify pop-up for her latest album, Sweetener.

This tree, however, is no trick of photo editing. In an Instagram posted by Grande’s older brother, Frankie, the decorations are much more apparent. The tree is totally inverted (a style that, as Mental Floss notes, has gotten some buzz over recent years), and next to it, a mantel of black stockings and taper candles delivers an extra dose of festivity, with a slightly gothic vibe.

In addition to decorating for the holidays, it seems like Grande is in the middle of furnishing her recently purchased New York City apartment. In another Instagram post, she showed off an installation of cloud-shaped pendant lights—another homage to one her most-used motifs, as well as the name of her most recently released perfume. The singer is truly making her space her own, and we can’t wait to see how the rest turns out.
