New York Fashion Week recently came to a close, leaving us with plenty of styling ideas for the upcoming seasons. While certain moments were maybe a little less accessible for everyday style—looking at you and your oversized bow shirts, Vaquera—other standouts are giving us major inspo.

Specifically? The colors.

The SS18 runways were saturated with a rainbow of hues, ranging from bold to demure. And while technically, the fall shows are meant to forecast the trends we’ll be seeing come 2018, there are plenty of opportunities to get a head start on incorporating these trendy colors in our homes right now.

Vibrant Orange

Before you grimace at the thought of putting anything remotely reminiscent of a traffic cone near your interior decor, don’t panic: Neon orange is more of a guideline than a rule. While the bright hue was everywhere this fashion week—from the oversized suit that opened the Marc Jacobs show to the trench coat making its way down Tom Ford’s runway—there are more low-key ways to integrate the color into your home.

For starters, try implementing the shade in smaller accent pieces—be it via a statement-making kitchen appliance, a few well-placed throw pillows, or a chic sculptural accessory, there are many subtle ways to go bold. Looking to make more of a splash? Try a bright orange accent wall to keep a summery feel going year round.

Lilac

If you’re more interested in a softer shade, try lilac. The pretty hue offers a respite from the usually vibrant colors spring is known for, as well as the deeper shades that come out of fall—not to mention, pastels are trending. Championed for SS18 by the likes of Ulla Johnson, Tibi, The Row, and Creatures of Comfort (to name a few), shades of lilac and lavender were everywhere.

To ensure your new lilac walls don’t err too much on the side of a six-year-old nursery, add a contemporary edge by mixing in modern pieces—like this room from the Bloomingville catalog. Incorporate contrasting colors to try your hand at colorblocking, or make the pastel hue the focal point by keeping the rest of the decor relatively simple and neutral.

50 Shades of Yellow

ICYMI, yellow has officially overtaken pink as the “it” color of the moment. But rather than only incorporating the buzzy “Gen-Z yellow,” this fashion week’s runways saw multiple variations of the shade at the forefront. From mustard yellow at Tome to lemon yellow at Tadashi Shoji, it doesn’t look like the sunny color is going anywhere anytime soon.

So, for those of us looking to refresh our spaces for the upcoming colder months, this is excellent news. Like orange, yellow is a great way to bring some warmth to a space—be it with a statement-making kilim rug that has smatterings of yellow, or via a trendy woven chair. Add a pop of brightness to your kitchen with a sunny yellow backsplash, and dress up a typically uninspiring room—like a bathroom or laundry room—with this fun color.

All-Over White

Take a cue from the head-to-toe white at Victoria Beckham, Creatures of Comfort, and Dion Lee, and keep your space looking fresh and chic with some monochrome. This timeless look is timeless for a reason: When tied into home design, an all-over white is ultra versatile. Keep the decor to a minimum for a clean, contemporary feel that’s Scandi-inspired, or tie in shades of white, natural textures, and plenty of cozy accents for a more serene haven.

Looking to make your whitewashed decor stand out a little more? Add in subtle pops of color for a level of interest, and try mixing in various white textures for a layered look. With some attention to detail, you can ensure that your monochrome space is anything but boring.

Celery Green

It looks like fashion is on board with Pantone’s Color of the Year: Jeremy Scott showed celery green sweaters tied around the waist (#momcore?), and the always fabulous Rosie Assoulin featured flowy dresses in the natural shade. Consider this an easy way to bring greenery indoors.

The pretty color works year round, and is perfect for those looking for a more subtle shade of green (although we love a deeper, jewel-toned green for making a really bold statement). Swap out plain tiles in your kitchen and bathroom for celery green options to bring in some color, like in this room by Bailey Mccarthy. Not sure about a celery green-painted room? You can always incorporate the hue via plants.
