Tavi Gevinson—Editor-in-Chief of Rookie Magazine, actress, writer, and fashion prodigy—let Nowness explore her first apartment as part of an ongoing series with Apartmento Magazine. Gevinson compares her NYC space to a fort and admits it’s a very adult thing (she’s 19 years old).

How her space feels kind of L.A. is on her list of aspects she loves, which she attributes to the pink bathroom tiling (seen below!) and the beamed living room ceiling. What do we like? Everything. But mostly, how the teenager wise beyond her years understands what it means to make your space your own.

She said, “I find that I need to surround myself with these objects that represent something important to me. Something that represents a time in my life, or something I did that I’m proud of, or someone who means a lot to me. So just kind of living in the orbit of all of those things is like, that’s the feeling of home.”

Also, we also like her spread out gallery wall with mismatched frames, record collection, and “Planet Queen” paper sign hanging in the window.
