Thanks are in order to Jeremiah Brent for figuring out our weekend plans. The designer just shared a peek at his latest DIY, and it’s surprisingly simple: He gave an old wood-framed mirror a coastal makeover with the help of a few dozen beach finds. Looks like the shell trend is alive and well.

Brent picked up his supplies from Amazon and used a hot-glue gun to stick every mini conch and scallop to the surface. According to the quick clip he shared, he started by tackling the corners, then filling in the gaps with whatever fit best. Now perched above what appears to be a console table topped with a couple dried palm leaves and a terracotta vase, it completes the picturesque earthy vignette. The best part: You might have the supplies lying around the house.

If you’ve amassed a seashell collection of your own, skip the online order and give your collected treasures new life on the wall—though if the ocean motif isn’t for you, we have more ideas. Try coiling rope around the frame for a pop of texture—or, when in doubt, go the bamboo route.
