Some people get jewelry for their birthdays. Others receive a nice bottle of wine. But if you’re Drew Barrymore and you’ve got a sincere love of all things colorful, you’re going to get a Pantone hue named after you. At least, that’s what they did in honor of the star’s 50th this week. It’s a no-brainer that the color institute would pick a shade of butter yellow given Barrymore has built her personal brand on warmth and optimism. Even the tagline for The Drew Barrymore show is “daytime’s brightest destination.”

“Drew Barrymore Yellow exudes a joyful glow, creating a space where everyone can shine. Inviting thoughts of pleasant relaxation, the creamy yellow is emblematic of Drew’s desire for happiness,” Laurie Pressman, the vice president of Pantone Color Institute, wrote in the company’s formal announcement

This buttery yellow shade has been a go-to for interior designers for a while now. They’ve used similar swatches on kitchen cabinets, dining nooks, sofas, and even exteriors. Now that we know the hue is Barrymore-approved, we really want to bring a splash of her shade into our spaces with these products.
