A lot of attention is paid to transforming the inside of our homes, but sometimes, what’s on the outside matters too. Giving your exterior a fresh coat of paint completely changes it. Whether it’s as simple as giving your front door a new hue or as involved as repainting the entire house, updating your exterior may be the single best example of how transformative color can be. If you’re looking to find the perfect paint for an exterior update, we have great news: Joanna Gaines is launching a line of exterior-specific paints in partnership with KILZ.

Part of the Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paint collection, this newest launch sees an additional 150 colors handpicked by the Fixer Upper star. It includes the 25 shades she already has in her Market Collection, plus a ton more in a range of modern farmhouse neutrals and more vibrant colors.

For Gaines, the exterior line was a natural extension of the paint line. “The Magnolia Home paint line is all about simplifying what can often feel like an overwhelming decision when choosing the right paint for your home,” she said in a press release. “Rather than an extensive collection with too many options, I’ve curated a selection of timeless, quality colors to help ease the process of choosing paint—for both indoors and out.”

Ensuring that quality control was something KILZ kept top of mind. “A quality coat of exterior paint has the power to protect your biggest asset: your home,” Andy Lopez, the brand director for KILZ, told us. “The new exterior line resists peeling, cracking, and blistering, delivering premium durability and a fade-resistant film for long-lasting color.”

The ease of mind that comes with a purchase from the line is essential because let’s face it: Painting an exterior takes time and is a lot less temporary than updating your kitchen with a new color. People aren’t repainting the outside of their homes every season, so a fresh coat needs to last.

Ranging in price from $40 to $50 per gallon and offering versatility in finishes—from flat to satin and semi-gloss sheens—Gaines’ new exterior paint line is a budget-friendly way to completely customize your home.

Stuck on color? We’ve rounded up a few of our favorites from the new launch.

A deep earthy green will bring a natural element to your space.

Go bold with a rich matte black. If your windows and doors are painted in a lighter hue, this will contrast nicely.

This vibrant red will turn your home into the star of the neighborhood. It’s the perfect tone for your door if you want to keep your colorful exterior updates to a minimum.
