But it’s the bloggers, DIYers, and self-made designers who are bringing these styles to the masses and making these ideas work for real life—and that’s what Domino is all about: chic, accessible design that you can feel good about bringing into your home. So for the inaugural Domino Design Blog Awards, we sought to champion these often overlooked players in the design industry by asking you to tell us about the must-follow creative bloggers around the world.
We received more than 150 nominations and whittled the list down to a standout group of 42 individuals in seven categories that were then voted on by the public. More than 68,000 votes were cast to determine the winners. We also partnered with Pinterest—the social platform most used by design bloggers—for a Pinner’s Choice Award, and we collaborated with the Awards’ sponsor, Tribute Portfolio Hotels, to select the Modern Maverick Award, given to the blogger who best reflects the Tribute guest: an unconventional, colorful individual who relishes in discovering and sharing new experiences.
So without further ado, I am thrilled to reveal the winners of the first-ever Design Blog Awards. Next week, each winner will be celebrated with a feature profile here on Domino so you can learn more about the personalities behind your favorite blogs.
