This ‘Broad City’ Actress’ LA Pad Has Serious 1950s Retro Vibes

Her highly-acclaimed and semi-autobiographical show may be all about making it in New York City, but Abbi Jacobson’s latest real-estate purchase proves that hard work—mixed with a killer sense of humor—really does pay off. According to Variety, the talented writer and actress of Comedy Central’s Broad City just scooped up a retro 1950s-style pad in L.A’s ultra hip Silver Lake neighborhood. And per the original listing, the comedy genius paid $225,000 over the asking price.

Coming in at a grand total of almost $1.6 million, the 2,000-square-foot home boasts panoramic views and indoor-outdoor living that makes it well worth the extra cash.

Jacobson will enjoy three bedrooms and two bathrooms worth of indoor living space along with a spacious front deck, large rear patio, and yard outside—all of which make this home extremely conducive to Cali entertaining. 

A light-flooded living room is flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows that provide unobstructed, palm tree-filled views of the surrounding area. The room’s stone fireplace is a stunning focal point that separates the sitting area from the adjacent dining room. While the massive fireplace alone gives off instant retro vibes, other decor elements add to the mid-century style of the building: A dark paneled accent wall and vaulted wood-beamed ceilings give the space the throwback hipster charm that is characteristic of the Silver Lake area.
