So often, design inspiration comes from traveling—arched doorways borrowed from Tuscan villas, handmade zellige tiles from Morocco, or rattan pendant lights picked up in Bali. But sometimes you don’t even need to pack a bag to stumble upon solid spaces. Just take a cue from Rachel McAdams’s recent stay in Australia.

The beloved leading lady reportedly rented a sunny midcentury home in a Sydney suburb while working on an upcoming film, and it deserves to be nominated for a number of stylish accolades. (We’d even venture to say she deserves an award for picking it out in the first place.) The property was built in 1959 and modernized by celebrated Aussie architect and interior designer Iain Halliday to feature a sleek-meets-playful vibe that feels akin to properties in Palm Springs. And now, the stylish spot is up for grabs.

Since you’re probably not attending an open house, here’s a rundown: A shiny red front door opens to a great room with clear views of a terrace overlooking a tropical backyard. The living room—which is full of light thanks to a lacquered ceiling bouncing the sunshine around—has enough space for two back-to-back living areas, while the nearby dining room is steps from an alternative dining area outdoors. And while the bold wallpaper in one of the bedrooms and a peek at a standalone tub in the en-suite is just as covetable, here’s the detail we’re most likely to take away from this tour: the terrazzo island in the kitchen.

Pale pink seems to be a recurring theme in this property. It’s everywhere from the living area to the bedroom, but it’s particularly successful as a subtle color-drenched moment in the kitchen. The bubble-pink shade of the walls and ceiling coordinates with the terrazzo perfectly, while the white chairs flanking the island pick up those specks in the stone, too. But to keep it from feeling too, well, pink, the dark wood floors and metal backsplash bring some weight to all the lightness. It’s a sweet showcase of balance that we’re saving for future inspiration. After all, you don’t need to be a movie star to get the kitchen of your dreams.
