Ali Wong and Steven Yeun ought to be on the Emmy track for their performances as Amy Lau and Danny Cho, respectively, in the Netflix show Beef. The series follows an arc of road rage–induced antics between the two stars, but for design nerds like us, there’s one other character stealing the show: Tamago, a molded plastic chair created by Amy’s artist father-in-law.
The seating makes its first appearance during episode two’s “65 Chairs” event—a celebration of iconic furniture designers, including Eames, Breuer, and more. In reality, the Tamago was a creation of Netflix’s production team, led by Grace Yun, so sadly, it’s not available in real life. However, some other supporting characters—er, chairs—featured in the series are shoppable. In a recent Instagram post, Blu Dot shared details on two products that earned screen time: the Buttercup lounge chair and the Field lounge chair. What’s more? Both are currently 20 percent off, but the latter, which is staged in Amy’s home during several scenes, got the seal of approval from actor Ashley Park (who plays Naomi in the show). Park left a heart-eyed emoji under the post with the comment, “That chair was so comfy.”
In the show, we see the Field chair in what appears to be a yellow-gold velvet, but there are 14 color options as well as a variety of materials (from leather to velvet to linen blends). Reversible cushions and a lumbar pillow sit on top of the bentwood and steel frame, and there’s also the chance to pair it with a matching ottoman (also on sale!). Based on Park’s endorsement, the piece seems perfect to kick your feet up for—what else—a good Netflix session.
