If it were up to Domino editors, Hay’s collection-drop days would be national holidays, and the Scandi brand’s latest is certainly something worth celebrating. While it’s tough to pick favorites—there are literally 21 extremely cute new productsInga Sempé’s Mousqueton portable lamp sits at the top of our wish list.

If the designer’s name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because she designed Hay’s popular Matin lighting collection as well. But this one is an entirely different style. For one, it’s indoor-outdoor, and while Hay has designed plenty of portable lamps, this is the first to have a multi-purpose hook. Basically, hanging it from a tree branch is highly encouraged. (Fun fact: Mousqueton is the French word for “carabiner.”)

Its aesthetic is described as “familiar yet contemporary,” and we couldn’t agree more. Most rechargeable lighting options out there are ultramodern, so it’s nice to see something with a more traditional-shaped shade. The lamp is in it for a good time and a long time, thanks to a weatherproof-coated steel top, zinc alloy base, and an LED bulb with an estimated life span of 35,000 hours. To top it all off, there’s a four-step dimmer.

While you’re dreaming of your alfresco setup, might we suggest you check out the Crate collection? The indoor-outdoor lounge chair and coffee table were originally designed by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld in 1934 as a way of repurposing surplus wood crates; Hay’s reedition makes it that much easier to bring the icons home. Plus now you can choose from five colors.
