Confession time: My bed-making skills are sub par. Usually, my strategy is to just pull up the sheets and duvet and—boom—I’m done. But what I’ve realized, having rotated my duvet covers over the past several years, is that not every style lends itself to a speedy routine. Solid colored ones made my lack of tucking look extra bland (especially if they were wrinkled linen). Lately, I’m convinced that the easiest way to achieve an automatically stylish bed is with stripes.

Thin ones, thick ones, neutral ones, loud ones—you can toss any type of stripe on a bed and it instantly makes it look put together. While you can get fancy by mixing a striped duvet with floral shams or a patchwork lumbar pillow, a full set looks super chic as-is. Maybe all you’ll want to add is a throw blanket along the foot, but even that’s not essential. Here are all the striped duvets I have my eye on; that way, I don’t have to give up my lazy mornings.
The Ultra Soft One
This is the duvet set that got me hooked on striped bedding to begin with. My fiancé and I currently have it on our queen bed and are obsessed with how soft the brushed cotton is (and mostly how it doesn’t get boiling hot even in the summer). The problem is, we’re upgrading to a king bed soon, so it’ll move into our guest bedroom for visitors to enjoy. My hunt to keep the stripe theme going lives on…
The Multi Striped One
I’m not exaggerating when I say Mango’s bedding launch has been one of my favorite home drops of 2025 so far. The color combinations spoke to me (dusty blue and brown, orange and olive, pink and raspberry) but the mix of stripe widths really stand out from the crowd.
The Designer-Approved One
The ties along the edges of the shams and duvet are what make this gem from Pierce & Ward’s new collab with West Elm extra sweet. I also appreciate that you don’t have to fuss around until you get a perfect bow—a little knot will do.
The Retro One
I’ve yet to try the tuck-the-coverlet-over-the-pillows look, but I have a hunch this vintage-inspired one made from cotton gauze would nail that minimalist trend.
The One That’s Like a Breezy PJ Set
This Piglet in Bed pick is fittingly called the Favorite Shirt Stripe because it looks like a classic button-down you’d wear to sleep (and will feel a lot like one because it’s 100 percent washed cotton percale).
The One That Ends in Ruffles
Maeve’s duvet looks like it came right out of a maximalist British bedroom—think one that nods to the work of Salvesen Graham, Buchanan Studio, or Laura Stephens.
The Tailored Pin Stripe One
While I do think this 200-thread-count cotton percale option from Zara Home would look best neatly tucked in (requiring some more effort on my part), the fact that the king size is only $90 keeps it in the running.
The Scandi One
Luckily, Danish bed and bath brand Tekla also makes pajamas, so if I end up going with this duvet cover, I can snag matching boxer-style shorts to sleep in.
The Nancy Meyers-Coded One
When I want my home to feel like it came out of a Nancy Meyers movie, I look to Hudson Grace. I’d layer this Belgian flax linen beauty alongside navy striped throw pillows or a high, upholstered headboard and belly flop into bed every night, a la Kate Winslet in The Holiday.
The Super-Organic One
If the ties on the West Elm x Pierce & Ward duvet are too busy for you, give this lookalike a try. Something else to feel good about? Quince’s percale bedding is crafted using windmill-powered green energy and finished without the use of harsh pesticides, GMOs, or toxins like formaldehyde.
The Reversible One
On weekends, I’ll put a little more effort into my bed-making and occasionally flip down the top of the duvet to add some interest at the edge of my pillows. This quilted blanket offers double the stripes so I can really have some fun.
