This Kitschy-Cool $15 Pitcher Is Amazon’s Best-Kept Secret

And might be the answer to finally drinking enough water.

I love a cheap thrill: That energizing, budget-friendly, pick-me-up purchase that improves your life in some big or small (okay, usually small) way. I know I’m not alone in this; some of Team Domino’s mood-boosting buys have ranged from IKEA chip clips to Fiskars floral clippers. Life is short—if loving a little harmless retail therapy is wrong, I don’t want to be right. A good mood is only a few dollars away.

I first came across these ridged pitchers at Merci, my favorite shop in Paris (and maybe planet Earth). The 16-ounce jug was about 7 American dollars, and there was something very simple and utilitarian about it. It was so unhip that it almost felt cool.

I did some digging and discovered that the one I saw in Paris is from a brand called Luminarc (it doesn’t ship to the U.S., but it is available at Amazon, Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, and more). Not too different from Duralex, the company makes heavy-duty glassware in France, sold at very attainable prices.

The pitchers are offered in a range of sizes. I was drawn to a satisfying, column-like option, holding 37 ounces of whatever you’re craving (in my case, Smith’s new hibiscus-mango iced tea). I have since used my fluted friend for a rooftop party, and it’s usually always next to my laptop while I’m working. After just a week, I’m already drinking a ton more water—and I didn’t have to buy a cheesy motivational bottle either. I’m happy with my kitschy-cool pitcher instead.
