We get it: Sticking to your new year’s resolution is hard. Whether you’re testing the waters with something a little more temporary like Dry January or setting a long-term goal for yourself—like tidying up your entire home (and keeping it that way)—sometimes, we all need an extra push to get there. For those of us who have promised ourselves—and our spaces—the latter, Ikea is here to help.
The Swedish retailer will be hosting a special two-day event later this month (dubbed Make Room for Organization) at ikea store across the nation, to inspire mess-making shoppers to declutter once and for all. On Saturday, January 27, and Sunday, January 28, Ikea will be offering a number of foolproof tidying workshops, giveaways, and limited-time deals to ensure our homes always look as good as they feel in 2018.
While all shoppers will be able to take $25 off any $150 in-store purchase (get your coupon here), neat freaks in the making will also be able to score major discounts on organizational essentials—Ikea’s IVAR shelving units, HEMNES chests, and BRIMNES daybeds are just a few savvy storage items that will be marked down. Plus, Ikea Family members can enjoy bonus discounts on clean closet must-haves, including the KOMPLEMENT multi-purpose hanger ($2.99) and BUMERANG black and white hangers ($1.99). They can also enter to win a $100 Ikea gift card.
But as any true decluttering extraordinaire knows, it’s not just the stuff you buy that keeps your home looking clean—it’s the skill. Tidying up takes practice and patience, so who better to learn from than Ikea’s best? The retailer’s home design experts will be leading a variety of home improvement workshops and activities, from a storage scavenger hunt to a linen closet class. Self-professed folding enthusiasts may be especially tempted to enter the fitted sheet folding contest.
Ikea’s Make Room for Organization event will run from 9:30am to 4pm. Learn more about the two-day tidying up soiree and find out which workshops are running at your local Ikea store here.
