Actor Denis O’Hare and his designer husband Hugo Redwood just listed their fabulous Fort Greene apartment for just shy of $1.6M. And thanks to the walls of exposed brick, sleek wooden floors, and warm hues, the home is the perfect combination of modern and intimate, despite its massive, 2,015-square-foot size.

The property, located just a block from Fort Greene Park, features stunning teak hardwood floors and an open floor plan that flows from the large living room into the galley-style kitchen. A half wall separating the cooking area of the kitchen from the entertaining area of the dining table is both functional and space-efficient, making the whole area feel more open and airy. The furniture is awe-aspiring, yet sparse enough to draw attention to the roomy home—note the modern drop lighting and sleek dining room chairs.

The massive duplex takes up about 500 square feet just with the living and dining area—it features 12-foot ceilings and a large arched window that lets in tons of natural light. A cozy, wood burning fireplace with a decorative mantle adds charm to the Brooklyn space, while the crisp white cabinets and stainless steel accents make the

feel so much bigger. The warm red hues and neutral walls also add to the cozy chic feel.

A media room is tucked behind elegant, sliding glass pocket doors on the backend of the kitchen, where O’Hare and Redwood have placed a television and large sofa. The space also includes an en-suite that can be used as another sleeping area, guest room, or bonus space.

Downstairs are the two bedrooms and a rec space. Painted white exposed brick mirror two of the walls in the master bedroom, and is contrasted by a slate gray accent. Another stunning arched window also adds architectural intrigue, while the walk-in closet provides excess space—a rarity in New York City.

Another unique feature of the home is the laundry area, complete with a washer-dryer and a built-out open plan—it’s complete with a sink, counter space, and a walk-in closet.

One of two bathrooms features a pebbled, earth-toned sink with a modern, striped wide tile motif. A rustic, dark brown vanity ties the space together, and the cheerful hues add some light to the space.
