L’Appartement Caudalie on Madison is the newest spa offering from French vinotherapie skincare brand Caudalie. After closing its spa at the Plaza Hotel last year, the brand and its founder Mathilde Thomas found a new Parisian-chic apartment space on the Upper East Side to call home. Having a natural light-filled space with the right floor plan and fireplace were very important to Thomas, who wanted something like a pre-war apartment. “The design of L’appartement Caudalie on Madison is actually inspired by my Parisian apartment,” says Thomas. “It’s accented with the elements of a traditional Parisian home including a Louis XVI fireplace, Haussman-inspired mirrors, book shelves (with hand-picked books from Assouline), and beautiful wood chevron floors.”

Thomas’ style mixes modern design elements with traditional Parisian accents. Four serene treatments rooms, each outfitted with the brand’s signature wallpaper designed in house, host their sculpting facials and soothing massages (similar to those offered at the Plaza). “The objects found around the space are from various potters and designers found while living in Asia,” says Thomas. “I wanted to be able to invite our clients into my apartment and feel as if they were inside a friend’s home.”
