Chasing Paper’s latest collaboration comes in the form of an inspired capsule collection from interior designer and HGTV personality Sabrina Soto. The LA-based lifestyle expert is known for her affinity for bright colors and relatively pared down approach to decor—two elements clearly present in the new collection. The line of removable wallpaper features six colorful prints with Chasing Paper’s signature peel-and-stick fabric. Renters, take note.

We caught up with Sabrina, to learn more about the collaboration and the inspiration behind the vibrant prints.

What inspired the collection?

I love being able to make a fun, colorful impact on a space without the permanence and cost most wallpaper comes with. I lived in rentals in New York and D.C. for years, and wish I had this line of wallpaper then.

What are the dominant motifs present in the line?

There really isn’t a specific theme for the entire line because each print is so different. I just wanted to make sure each style was fresh and modern.

How would you describe your style, and how is that reflected in the wallpapers you design?

Bold, playful, and modern. Most of the styles have a bit of whimsy, whether in the color palette or kitschy pattern and some are modern takes on classic prints—like my play on the Martinique pattern in grey scale, and pink and blue.

Did you have a specific room in mind when designing any of the prints?

Olivia’s [Soto’s daughter] was definitely an inspiration for the younger prints. Your kids go through so many stages, each with its own personality. What’s cute for them in a nursery isn’t necessarily cool for a little girl’s room. I also have some rooms in my house that lacked personality, so I designed patterns I would use in my own home.

What’s your favorite print from the collection?

It has to be the pink palm. I just love the way it turned out.

Are there any wallpaper trends you see on the rise?

I think people are becoming more open to bold patterns and colors, especially with the option of using a

temporary wallpaper

People now have more options to be able to tell their own story and infuse personality into their homes.
