It’s like a sleeping bag for my computer.

It’s no secret, even among my coworkers (whose IRL faces I adore, truly), that I love working from home. After three years of freelancing, I’ve become accustomed to typing away from my apartment’s office, then taking a break to whip up lunch and, in between meetings, running a quick errand. So the transition back to the Domino workplace, even for a few days a week, has me worried about my productivity—and my happiness.
Odds are you too will be going back into an office sometime soon—or perhaps you’ve already started commuting a few days a week—which, if you’re anything like me, will be a bit of an adjustment after spending the past 16 months of Zoom calls in sweatpants. But there is one thing (other than my coworkers’ darling faces, I mean it!) that actually has me excited to go back: a Baggu puffy laptop sleeve, the ideal product for a soft reentry into the workplace.
Much like a puffer coat, the case, which comes in two sizes (13 inches and 16 inches), is quilted and cozy, thanks to a nylon exterior and cushy recycled fill padding. The Velcro flap keeps my laptop in place, even during jostling subway rides or turbulent air travel. I can even fit a few papers in there, too.
And unlike those serious neoprene laptop cases (what, is your MacBook going scuba diving?), Baggu’s color and pattern selection is delightfully happy, from a literal smiley face pattern to my rainbow gingham that brings me joy every time I take it out of my tote. (The variety also makes them good for organizing: My boyfriend has a floral one, so now we never confuse our computers.)
When the idea of nerve-racking, in-person presentations or subway delays becomes too much, I just clutch my pillowy laptop like a security blanket and take comfort in the fact that I’ve got coworkers who I enjoy making the commute for, but also that I’ve found utilitarian computer gear that’s pretty darn cute.
