There are more than a few gems from Zara Home’s covetable new collaboration with Hungarian fashion label Nanushka, but there’s one thing in particular I can see gracing pretty much any room in my apartment. And don’t let its ambiguous description—irregular area rug—fool you. It’s far from generic.
Made of wool and cotton, the oblong shape is ideal for a few reasons. Whether you’re working within tight quarters or in a really big space, there can be a lot of pressure to find a rug that fills the room. There’s something about carving off the corners of the traditional square or rectangle design and whittling such an organic shape that makes everything a little more fun. And I know just where I’d put it.

Some greater being decided to grace me with a rare NYC rental perk: a walk-in closet. The only downside is, I can’t stand how chilly the floor feels when I’m trying to pick out a weather-appropriate outfit. Enter this $299 rug, which would help round out the narrow space. It would look just as cute right outside our bedroom door acting as a soft landing pad as we wind down the night.
This particular rug would also be stellar for layering on top of similarly quirky shapes. Alternatively, you could invest in a big dark-colored area rug and use this abstract option as an accent in the corner. Think of your floor as a canvas and you’re painting with textiles.
But as I said, there are a lot of winners in this new fashion-forward collection, like the glass bottle with a cheery green ball top, the set of dessert plates, and the totem table. You can check out the full collaboration here.
