Aside from her reputation as a rom-com darling, Jennifer Garner has earned quite a following lately for her playful “pretend cooking show” Reels. In a recent episode, er, Instagram post, some might argue that the brown butter and sage pasta was the star, but it was the globelike lantern she used to navigate her backyard that was giving us main-character energy.

In the video, Garner reads an excerpt from The Last Thing He Told Me, a book by author Laura Dave from which the actor’s latest Apple TV series was adapted, while cooking a recipe from one of the scenes. As she heads out back to collect fresh herbs and citrus, a beaming orb—the Carrie lamp from Menu, to be exact—lights the way. It’s a pretty clever swap if you consider how clunky a flashlight can actually be when you’re trying to do anything in the dark. Thanks to a sleek arched handle and a flat brushed-brass base, Garner was still able to see and use both hands as she set the lamp down to collect leaves of sage from the elevated garden beds.

The minds behind Danish design brand Menu collaborated with Copenhagen-based Norm Architects to create this portable wonder (hence why it starts at $210). But it’s worth every penny. Not only is it practical, the warm LED glow and Scandi-inspired silhouette will look just as good indoors as out. Whether you’re transforming a boring bookshelf or setting the mood for a bedside reading sesh, with up to 10 hours of battery life, it’s guaranteed to get you through the final chapter.
