There’s a lot to love about Halle Berry—she brought us Gothika, redefined Catwoman, and has co-starred in a Bond movie. Now we’ve got something else to add to the list: her catio. The actress recently posted on her social channels giving us a little tour of a patio she made for her cats (catio, get it?) for Christmas. Designing spaces for pets is nothing entirely new but we’re in love with the chic way she integrated play spaces for her furry friends without sacrificing style.

The star of her set-up is a wavy, ceiling-anchored path made of wood, but that’s only the start. There’s also a window-height perch for keeping tabs on the outdoors, a big scratching post, a cozy little bed nest, suspension bridges (seriously), a treat station high off the ground, an automatic litter box, and plenty of toys back on the ground. Oh, to be one of Halle Berry’s cats.

International Pet Day felt like the perfect time to reveal our “catio”…an oasis for our fur babies that we built just for them ❤️

A study conducted last year by Redecor revealed that 78 percent of people consider aesthetics when buying pet accessories or have made home decor decisions based on their pets. So if you’ve ever thought to yourself, “Wow, I would really love to dedicate a room to the pure enjoyment of my feline BFF,” know that you are far from the only person to do so.

If you’re looking to follow Berry’s lead and want more inspiration on how to make your space work for you and your cats, run straight toward this kitchen tour. The couple who lives in the London home chose colors based on what their pets can actually detect, and introduced massive windows and climbing posts right into the architecture. A full-on reno not in your future? There are plenty of perches you can introduce into your space (such as this curved wall shelf from Free People and this column seat), or you could create a little catwalk (sorry) along the ceiling with this design on Etsy that looks identical to Berry’s. This tower is also great for minimal design enthusiasts, and if you really want to go full-send, here’s a whole house for your cat.
