My laundry room can barely be called that. It’s more accurately “a basement storage room that happens to have a washer and dryer shoved in it.” The appliances aren’t even fully pushed up against the wall—I’ve tried and can’t budge them—so socks are always getting lost back there, never to be seen again. Aesthetically and functionally, we’re at rock bottom. The only way is up and Michelle Lei Pinlac’s Amazon find feels like a good start: A countertop you can set right on top of your (front-loading) machines.

Not only does the product instantly make your space feel more like all the beautifully renovated ones we feature on Domino, it’s a seamless surface for sorting and folding clothes. In fact, there’s enough room that Lei Pinlac also stores detergent pods, dryer balls, and towels on top of hers. She doesn’t have to worry about anything falling between or behind the appliances either, thanks to the lips on three sides.

Convincing myself that if I make my laundry room cute I won’t dread doing laundry as much 🥲 #laundryroomorganization #laundryroom #amazonfinds #amazonhome #homeorganization #organizedhome #founditonamazon #homedecor

The countertop comes in eight finishes (Lei Pinlac chose the oak option; I’d probably do the same) and arrives in three pieces you assemble with an Allen wrench. Good news for renters: Attaching it to your washer and dryer is as simple as setting it down—the topper has non-slip rubber pads underneath to keep it in place. Even during a spin cycle, reviewers comment that it stays put. “Convincing myself that if I make my laundry room cute I won’t dread doing laundry as much,” Lei Pinlac writes in her Tiktok caption. Sounds about right!
