After months of living, working, and dining at home, we’re reevaluating our decor MVPs. A new desk takes precedence over the vintage end table you’ve had bookmarked on Instagram; a bookshelf to fit all the hardbacks you ordered suddenly tops your wish list. The problem is that new furniture is a pricey investment—which is why Shea McGee’s fall collection with Target is so great. Our favorite bigger purchases are all under $400.

McGee’s line (her second in an ongoing collaboration with the retailer) is centered on accents that bring cozy fall vibes home. And while we’re always going to have a soft spot for a bouclé throw pillow, we’re zeroing on the furniture, which features an array of trendy materials in timeless silhouettes. Here’s what we’ll be shopping for as soon as the collection is live on September 13.

The Home Office Necessity

It looks like cane isn’t going anywhere, and this writing desk is the ideal blend of form and function. Ditch the dining room table for a proper workspace; it’s small enough to tuck into the only available nook in your apartment while still providing ample room for a task lamp (and your go-to form of aromatherapy).

The Living Room Library

If you’ve been getting through quarantine by reading through the weirdness, you likely need somewhere to house your novels, and this curved bookcase is up to the job. Or style it out by filling its shelves with all your favorite things.

The All-Purpose Chair

Need a spot to scroll through emails before your first meeting? A perch next to your window made for sipping your morning coffee? A comfy backdrop for your weekly family FaceTime? This cream-colored seating option ticks all the boxes.

The Movie Night Mainstay

Fill the shelves with board games and DVDs for a catchall entertaining station you’ll be glad you invested in when the cold weather rolls around. This cane console looks like a vintage score, no doubt thanks to the elegant walnut finish and curved silhouette.

The Fleecy Ottoman

Cozy sherpa is the unexpected textural touch your space is craving, set against sleek wood legs. Plus a versatile stool is a staple for any household: From extra seating to a makeshift bed bench, it can multitask.

Her dream apartment would exist on the Upper West Side and include a plethora of mismatched antique chairs, ceramic vessels, and floor-to-ceiling bookcases—essential to her goal of becoming a poor man’s Nora Ephron. You can probably find her in line at Trader Joe’s. You will never find her at SoulCycle.
