“My desk is always littered with the next season’s lookbooks,” says Domino’s associate style editor, Julia Stevens. “So by the time summer comes around, I’m well acquainted with the best of the best.” From a new take on classic string lights to powder-coated lounge chairs in unique hues, Stevens created a Domino-approved edit of summer must-haves to keep you cool (and chic!) this season. But keep in mind that just because sets are trending doesn’t mean you’ll find any here. Instead Stevens much prefers mixing and matching materials, colors, and vibes to create a look all her own. Read on for the furniture and decor we’re loving for an outdoor space that feels like a 24-7 vacation.

Unset Your Table

Opposite materials attract. Pair a pistachio-hued steel folding table and lavender ceramic plates (calling on our current color crushes) with a splattering of natural rattan and wicker chairs for a multi-textured setup. Add ombré emerald glassware carrying a refreshing cocktail and handcrafted placemats woven from Colombian jipijapa leaves, and your tablescape is ready for taste testing all of Molly Baz’s new recipes.

Lean Into the Lounge

We’ve missed each other, so we’re all about pieces that promote friends (safely) sitting and staying a while. Kick back in a hammock as durable as it is chic (it’s made from heavy cotton and has sturdy loops for hanging) or on a woven love seat (add a few rainbow-hued accent pillows for comfort). If you’re more of a “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere” type, consider a retro-inspired, Scandi-style bar cart to assist with your mixology endeavors. To top it all off, outdoor rugs will create a cozy living room atmosphere and can be easily wiped clean when there’s the inevitable guacamole spill.

Elevate the Everyday

More often than not, it’s the finishing touches that turn a basic back deck into a transportive retreat. Start with lantern-inspired string lights and a weather-friendly resin pendant lamp to ensure the party stays lit well into the evening, then add a geometric tray to corral snacks and drinks within arm’s reach. In vibrant hues, the workhorses of the backyard, from a sunny umbrella to a plum-hued garden hose, double as decor.
