January is the unofficial “declutter your life” month. Spurred by New Year’s resolutions and an overall desire to start fresh, this is the month where we look to hit reset. Whether this means picking up a few key organizational tools or tiptoeing into a more minimalist aesthetic, this goal can take many forms. But why end with January? As we near the end of the month, Ikea is giving us a reason to pick up organizational items that will last for years to come. The “Get Organized” event is officially upon us, happening this Saturday, January 19.
If it’s anything like last year’s event, you won’t want to miss it. Between 9:30 a.m and 3 p.m, Ikea stores around the country will be hosting activities—like the “Closet Clutter Be Gone” or “Kitchen Junk Drawer No More” workshops. Because, as the press release points out, “Organization isn’t just about getting rid of stuff—it’s about focusing to make more room for the things that bring you joy.” A cleaner closet may be as simple as reworking its contents and picking up some storage bins.
But beyond the activities, the real reason to go is the sale. For starters, there’s a coupon (good until January 20) that offers $25 off any $150 in-store purchase—download the coupon and bring it to stores to redeem.
