It was not too long ago that chef and author Alison Roman quite nearly broke the internet with “The Cookies”—think chunky chocolate chip cookies married with a buttery shortbread, encrusted with a crunchy, sugared rim. This winter, Roman’s back with a similar, albeit decidedly healthier influence with “The Stew,” her chickpea-based soup that has managed to rack up a serious following.

Comprised of a spiced combination of crispy chickpeas, turmeric, ginger, and coconut milk, the stew is an antioxidant- and superfood-rich blend that can ward off even the most stubborn of colds. With that in mind, we set out to uncover the recipes that incorporate the powerful, immune-boosting ingredients we so desperately need this season. From spiced coconut concoctions to elevated takes on classic chicken noodle soup, these are the mouthwatering recipes we’ll be whipping up all season long.
