When it comes to colorful, hardworking accessories in the coolest materials (think: borosilicate glass mugs and pastel tinware), one of the first places we look is Hay. So suffice to say, Chicagoans, we New Yorkers are jealous of you. The Danish brand is opening a new store—only its third in the U.S.—in the Windy City today. If you love Scandinavian design beyond pale wood furniture and sheepskin rugs, you’ll want to book it over to Lincoln Park ASAP.
The store is 3,500 square feet of decor inspiration, from shelves stocked with dinnerware in every color of the rainbow to rows and rows of intentionally washed-out linens. Consider this our official plea to make brick-and-mortar Hay outlets a nationwide development.
If you can’t make it to Chicago, the good news is everything in the shop can also be purchased online (and if you caught its fall collection, you might already have some wish list items). Here’s what’s in our virtual shopping cart:
The Pleated Lamp
Available in a myriad of shades (no pun intended), this is the light fixture that puts all other lamps to shame. Keep it on your desk to make sifting through your in-box a little more glamorous.
The Striped Pillow
Dress up your white sofa with this vibrant textile, or if your couch is already a bold hue, consider it a foray into color-blocking.
The Minimalist Chair
A step above your average wood dining chair, this green polypropylene piece makes functional seating a style moment, too.
The Ceramic Pot
Go beyond terracotta. This ceramic planter’s sleek silhouette and modern tint (we love the yellow option) will have all eyes on your beautiful greenery.
