Floral Wallpaper Might Not Be Groundbreaking for Spring, But We Love It Anyway

Take that, Miranda Priestly.

Welcome to The Deep Dive, a series where we search high and low for the best of the best in any decor-related category, from modern chandeliers to vintage rugs. Next up: floral wallpaper.

It was Miranda Priestly who once famously quipped: “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking,” in The Devil Wears Prada. Despite her acute cynicism, she had a point. Every year, like clockwork, the budding pattern resurfaces everywhere, from runways to duvets and even rosé bottles. But there’s a reason blossoms are so refreshing: They signal a rebirth—something we could all use after a dreadfully long winter.

They also look damn good on walls. For a while, floral wallpaper had a bad rap. Visions of rooms plastered in dainty Laura Ashley prints, which incidentally also covered the curtains and bedspreads, still haunt our childhood memories. But modern iterations are anything but dated. In fact, if you dive deeper, you’ll find there’s a floral wallpaper for just about everyone’s taste.
