Neon lights are having a moment. The bright, vibrant light up tubes are now spanning beyond the recognizable “open” signs, and instead, popping up in some of the the trendiest restaurants across the country. With their snappy wordage and funky designs, they’re the ultimate cool-girl addition to a space, with mainstream outlets like Urban Outfitters and Etsy selling some great options that you can bring home.

Branching beyond colorful restaurant interiors, these bright lights are sure to catch your eye, as well as add a personalized pop to each of these spaces. Check out a few of our favorites, and get some inspo for your own neon light addition.

Dubbed the ultimate downtown contemporary restaurant in NYC, thanks to its earth-toned, minimalist space and sleek furniture, De Maria’s addition of a neon-accented Virgin Mary sign screams modern cool.

Chicha NYC

Get your fill of authentic Nicaraguan food at this Brooklyn eatery, which features a pastel interior color palette and stunning bar setup. We’re loving the use of neon in the hallway—it looks almost like an optical illusion.

EP & LP LA

On the rooftop lounge of this hip, Aussie-run LA eatery lives an Insta-worthy sign that plays on the owner’s favorite song: Where Love Lives by British singer Alison Limerick.

Cake Monkey Bakery

Inside this pretty in pink LA bakery lives a sweet custom sign fit for the venue—because, you know, you can never have enough cake.

Chillhouse

This ever so trendy cafe-meets-spa is all about chill vibes, and their custom neon sign is no different. Tying in to the zen aesthetic is Chillhouse’s white neon silhouette, and it’s hands down one of our favorites.

The Art of Donut

Playing into the casual-cool feel of the doughnut shop’s interior, this buzzy sign fits right in with the creative, flavorful offerings, and makes a prettily perfect Instagram backdrop.

Tijuana Picnic

Tequila, anyone? This cheeky sign found in an upbeat Mexican joint plays into the non-traditional accents and casual atmosphere. Complemented by retro booths and funky lamps, this playful sign sets the vibe for a good time.

DayGlow Coffee LA

Previously known as ‘Neon Coffee’, we’re loving the sweet accent this sign makes in a Los Angeles coffee shop. Plus, the store took it another step further, and created the entire menu in neon lights—making this place both bright and delicious.
