If the inaugural Domino Design

Blog Awards

taught us one thing, it’s that there is an astounding number of inspiring design bloggers around the world. Given that we’re based in the United States, our feed is usually dominated by American blogs. So in 2018, we’re making a point to add more international designers to our must-read list to remind ourselves that good design can be found in every corner of the world.

Whether it’s European minimalism or bold patterns and textures from the tropics, we’re always on the lookout for new styles that will help us elevate our own home decor—and these sites by international bloggers definitely deliver. From chic French style to cozy Scandinavian textures, the following blogs show us that when it comes to the home, there are truly no boundaries.

Afri-Love

Blogging from: Kenya

Why we love it:

Playing with color and pattern can be a challenge, but designer and artist Lulu Kitololo wants to help her readers celebrate their personalities by allowing them to mix and match with confidence and ease. Her bold design choices are often experimental and offer a ton of design inspiration.

My Scandinavian Home

Blogging from:

Sweden

Why we love it:

Winner of the Best International Design Blog Award at Domino’s very own Design Blog Awards last year, My Scandinavian Home was started by London native Nikki Brantmark, who moved to Sweden 10 years ago. The blogger and author of Lagom (among others) celebrates the simplicity of Nordic design in her blog, where she features stunningly minimalist homes that don’t skimp on style.

A Pair & A Spare

Blogging from: Hong Kong and Australia

Why we love it:

Started by self-professed design and craft lover Geneva Vanderzeil, A Pair & A Spare focuses on making home decor chic, easy, and fun. While most DIYs seem overly complicated, Vanderzeil makes sure to have clear photos and step-by-step instructions in order to make the process as easy as possible. She also just bought a house—so her upcoming content is sure to be stunning.

Grillo Designs

Blogging from: The UK

Why we love it:

Pinterest has spoken—and Grillo Designs was awarded the Pinner’s Choice Award at Domino’s Design Blog Awards last year. Medina Grillo, the brainchild behind the blog, tells Domino, “I find inspiration from going to a store and liking something, but being unable to afford it. I do research and find patterns, and I just try to put things together.” The result is a chic take on upcycling that allows readers to mix and match in order to find their perfect style.

The Design Files

Blogging from: Australia

Why we love it:

Encompassing everything from art and garden to interiors and architecture, The Design Files aims to inspire readers with gorgeous shots of all aspects of home decor, as well as help them find their own signature style through interviews with creative people in the field.

My Paradissi

Blogging from: Crete

Why we love it:

A minimalist’s dream, My Paridissi takes the reader into the world of architect and interior designer Eleni, whose chic style is evident throughout the blog. Pale hues and rustic touches dominate her designs, which are the perfect mix of cosy and elegant.

An Indian Summer

Blogging from: India

Why we love it:

Talk about a mix of pattern. Creator Bhavna Bhatnagar finds rich textures and colors inspired by the region, and showcases them on her blog to teach users how they can also play with these unique styles in a way that still makes it their own.

MyDubio

Blogging from:

The Netherlands

Why we love it:

Stark whites might seem sterile to you at first, but after you check out MyDubio, you might find yourself falling hard for the site’s subtle play with pale hues. The sophisticated blog truly believes that less is more—and once you check out their newly designed office, you just might agree.

Blueberry Home

Blogging from: France

Why we love it:

Vintage and Scandinavian styles mesh together to create a unique take on home decor—we love the pops of pattern in otherwise minimalist spaces. The blog’s creator, Aurelie, always finds homes that perfectly blend her chic design style with a more eclectic edge, and the results are stunning.

Stella And The Stars

Blogging from: Dubai

Why we love it:

Based in the Middle East, Emilie Jacobs focuses on two of our favorite things: small spaces and maximalism. All about big impact on a small budget, Stella And The Stars uses statement pieces and wild patterns to really step outside the box.
