This is what you see when you walk in my front door. A large pool and a huge water slide stage right. It’s odd. But we are odd so it suits us and one of the things my husband and I are passionate about is people. We want people to feel like this is their home too. Open door policy. Come over unannounced. Eat our food. Stay a little too long. This was the motive behind buying this home. And we also realized that when our kids become teens they will all want to hang out here so we will have an eye on them. It never looks like this by the way. It currently has 4 baskets of shoes and dog hair so…..📷: @carlaypage thanks to my buddy @graceandpiece for some of the pretty things! Every object represents a different place we’ve visited: a fun memory of a quirky ‘hiob’ (thrift shop) in Switzerland, a great ‘loppamarked’ in Denmark, a ‘souk’ in Morocco, a ‘mercado’ in Mexico, a relic from the Pasadena Rosebowl or the ‘Mercato delle pulci’ in Italy or ‘Le Puces’ in France. We are always wrapping our laundry around ceramics and art pieces, squeezing them into our suitcases, crossing our fingers they make it home in one piece 🤞🏾. Do you love thrift shops and flea markets as much as we do? Which is your favorite market in the world? For me, it’s a tie between the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul and the Souk in the old Medina in Marrakech…but I still have so much more to see!

This pattern-filled studio is full of all the things we admire about Justina Blakeney’s design sensibility—rich emerald greens, animal print, palm leaves, and all the rattan furniture you could ever dream of. Check out her book, released late last year, for more boho inspiration.

You see that rattan side table with the glass top? My mom told me when I was 3, she would let me color all over the glass tops with my crayons because it kept me entertained for hours and the glass was easy to clean. And that mirror is 65 years-old and belonged to my grandmother, who taught me how to paint and sew. I love mixing old pieces along with the memories and stories behind them with new. ❤️ Today I’ve been styling and working on product shots to prepare these pillows for the launch happening next Wednesday! Hope you’re having an awesome day!
