My heart belongs to Brooklyn (and domino!) but as a born and bred Texan I can’t resist a trip back home. On a recent excursion to Austin, I hit up my old haunts and even found a few new ones. While the city offers more than could ever be Intsagrammed, here’s a little taste of my beloved home state. – @shanisilver

Jumping (quickly) into the ice-cold Barton Springs waters really hits home the fact that I’m in Texas. There are some experiences that can’t be replicated elsewhere. This is one of them.

@bygeorgeaustin has always been a favorite of mine for the sake of fashion, but I really love their expansion into home as well. The aesthetic of their South Congress store is so dreamy I’d love to transport it somehow into my home.

You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t put her in heels. @allensbootsis a very worthwhile stop on any Austin trip. Their staff is incredibly attentive and helpful, and literally every personal style can find a pair to love here. Also their Twitter handle is @cowboyboots which is the very best one on Earth.

Capping off a trip home with a night at The Broken Spoke is mandatory. I should dust off my Two Step skills far more often. If you haven’t been to a classic Texan dance hall, this is the one to try.

I could hang out in @spartanshop for hours. A trip here will have you re-imagining your space and all that it can be. Leaving empty handed is impossible.

Until next time, Austin.
