The arrival of The Brutalist in theaters might be associated with a renewed interest in steel, and materials like concrete or glass, but the former has long had its fans (Breuer heads, we’re looking at you). And yet, we’ve noticed more designers and brands infusing silvery metal, in stainless and chrome applications, to everyday products and furniture, like beds, floor lamps, and even dinner plates. It has caught our eye during design fairs, at gallery shows, furnishing hotels, and in our home tours, not to mention across collection launches. Whether muted or polished, steel’s simplicity lends it timelessness, and after the industry’s prolonged affair with brass and other warm finishes, we’re feeling the edge it’s bringing to decor lately. Here’s our current edit of products, both recent launches and classics, that add a touch of cool to interiors.
