Which is why the biggest surprise was just how comfortable this sofa is. The instructions were sparse, but honestly, they didn’t need to be any longer. Customizing Day By Day
Essentially an L-shaped sectional with a free-floating ottoman, we initially placed the chaise toward the back of the living room, letting the ottoman complete a U-shape near our home’s highest-traffic zone. After a few weeks, we spontaneously flipped the layout, and it immediately made more sense for how we actually live. The new configuration gives the busiest corner of the room a bit more definition.
The only hiccup came a few days in, when we realized the corner piece had a tendency to separate from the longer section. Last Notes
There are only a couple things I’d tweak. The seat cushions clip into place, which keeps them from migrating across the room, but because they’re secured with just two clips, they still shift a little after an afternoon of toddler acrobatics or an enthusiastic dog zoomie. It’s never enough to make the sofa look messy, though I do find myself giving everything a quick straighten every few days.
I appreciate how surprisingly lightweight each section is; rearranging the layout is much easier than its size suggests. The trade-off is that disconnecting the brackets requires lifting the pieces just a couple inches, so retrieving the inevitable rogue toy from underneath can turn into a slightly bigger production.
Still, those feel like minor concessions for a sofa that’s quietly become the hardest-working piece in our home. It’s where laptops land during the workday, where everyone naturally gathers before dinner, and where Saturday mornings disappear under piles of books and blankets. A big improvement never felt so seamless.
