There are a handful of products interior designers use again and again because they’re just that good. In this new series, we ask a pro to share a current holy grail item.

Australian furniture designer Ceci Thompson has dreamt up some of our favorite CB2 pieces in recent years, from the Costa Outdoor Sofa and Ollina Alabaster Sconce to the Pierre Travertine Bench. (Prepare to be fully converted if it’s your first time eyeing these beauties.) Atlanta-based interior designer Amber Guyton is also a fan of Thompson’s work, particularly of the Fitz Channeled Swivel Chair. She’s used the plush velvet seat in several of her vibrantly-hued living rooms around the metro area; it’s super comfortable and reasonably-priced, not to mention timeless, she says. Plus, there are 30 different color and fabric options, including five quick-ship choices, which makes it extremely versatile.

“The oversized stature, stylish channel tufted design, and overall comfort make the chair very attractive and universal for various spaces,” Guyton adds. “The swivel functionality also makes the accent chair more conversational, versus one that’s static.”

And she’s not the only one singing Fitz’s praises. Several shoppers call it “comfortable and elegant,” while others mention that the “scale is great for smaller spaces,” “swivel is a game changer,” and the “construction quality is wonderful.” Some shoppers note that the velvet fabric is a little delicate, and that they are best suited as accent chairs versus lounge chairs.

A single Fitz will run you $1,199, but you can also buy it in a pair. All the better reason to pick up a couple: one reviewer divulges that the Fitz is so stylish and comfortable that their family fights over who gets to sit in it.
