I have no regrets about color-drenching my sunroom in a rich jungle green except for the fact that suddenly, our AC vent was a glaring white eyesore. I’d already been considering upgrading to one of Fittes’s DIY-friendly air covers, which is infinitely sleeker, when I got the news that the brand was launching an elevated version called Lite+

The Lite+ framed wall vent has all the features that first drew me to Fittes: a minimalist, grill-less design; the option to paint it so that it truly blends right in (just be sure to use primer and a paint that’s made for plastic); and a drop-in, 15-minute install that doesn’t require calling a pro. Because I’ll be retrofitting mine to my current setup, I can only choose the 10×10-inch. But it’s nice to have options, and there are six total sizes available.

All you need to put the Lite+ in place is a screwdriver or, even better, a drill. The vent comes in two pieces—the body and the plate—along with four screws. Screw in the body, pop in the plate, paint it if you so desire, and move on with your day.

If you’re curious about price, the Lite+ is pretty comparable to the standard model—at $45 for the smallest size, it’s just $15 extra. The difference you’re paying for is barely visible to the eye; it’s all in the air flow, which is 50-percent stronger thanks to a new double air channel. Fittes convincingly calls the Lite+ “the most powerful and best value vent we’ve ever made.” So when my sunroom is living up to its name and baking under the strong afternoon light, it’ll still be cool as can be—both temperature- and looks-wise. Consider it added to cart.
