Mother’s Day is just about here, and it’s time to celebrate the wonderful woman you call mom. There are lots of ways to show her you care: You can treat your mom to a spa day, take her out to dinner, or spoil her with some jewelry. However, if you are looking to do something a little different—that also happens to fall into the “easy” and “last-minute” categories—think about donating to charity in her name. There are plenty of great organizations out there that do good for women in need. Since mom taught you to share your good fortunes and help others, we know she’ll be thrilled to see you putting these lessons into practice.

1. Girls Not Brides

Girls Not Brides is a global partnership that is committed to ending child marriage while enabling girls to reach their full potential. They rightfully believe every girl should lead the life of her choosing.

2. Tostan

This Africa-based organization works directly with rural communities and aids in their development. Within this program, Tostan helps women and children learn leadership skills to further their own community’s development.

3. Heifer International

Heifer International empowers families affected by poverty and hunger. They link communities by bringing sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty. You can donate a share of an animal to the women of Napal, Africa, Haiti—or another country of your choice.

4. Americares

Americares is an organization that believes with good health anything is possible. They are focused on improving the health of women, men, and children to foster education, employment, and an active community life.

5. V-Day

Help end violence against women and girls by donating to V-Day. V-Day generates a broader attention to the fight and creates awareness of the cause through performance art. Your donation helps stop physical and sexual abuse around the world.

6. Days For Girls

Access to feminine hygiene products is not a given in all countries. Days For Girls provides lasting access to these solutions and health education. This organization gives millions of girls the tools they need to stay in school and have the opportunity to succeed.

7. Save The Children

In times of crisis, Save The Children is there to invest in children, and your donation goes towards improving their lives. You can sponsor a child around the world—or right in your own city or town.

8. Polaris Project

There are nearly 21 million human trafficking victims globally, and that’s why The Polaris Project helps fight modern slavery. Check out their website to read up on different ways you can help.

9. Women On Wings

Women On Wings aims to create millions of jobs for women in rural India. Women then spend their money on their children, allowing them to go to school, which increases their ability to succeed in the future.

10. RAINN

Every 98 seconds, another person becomes a victim of sexual assault. Your donation to RAINN goes towards improving the lives of those affected.
