What do you get when you cross Mama Medicine with honeymoon and travel experts Mr & Mrs Smith? A healing bath ritual for any type of bride-to-be. We recently met up at the Riverhouse Suite at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge to learn how to DIY four different restorative baths. Here, you can find how to recreate each sensual soak to help you relieve stress, find focuscure laziness, or calm your nerves.

Deborah Hanekamp aka Mama Medicine—a seeress with over 16 years in the healing arts as an Initiated Amazonian Shaman, Reiki Master, and Yogini—fills a carved stone soaking tub with blood red rose petals to restore vigor and vim to a lazy bride-to-be who’s just not feeling the whole wedding planning thing. She understands that even the most amorous of brides can come up against some internal resistance while planning her wedding.

“When we feel sluggish,” she says, “we are usually avoiding something. If you’re not feeling like dealing with all your wedding logistics, now is the moment to scan every choice you’ve made. The band you chose, the seating chart, even your dress. Then ask yourself, ‘How does this feel for me?’”

If you’re doubting any of your decisions, says Hanekamp, then now is the time to change them. “The goal,” she says, “is to focus on the ultimate vision of your dream wedding, and less on what everyone else needs from you. Once you surrender to your anxiety and get to work, you’ll be shocked by all the serendipity and surprises the universe has in store.”

Here’s your step-by-step guide for getting all happy and high-functioning via la agua.

Ingredients:

• Smokey white sage
• A scoop of Bentonite clay • Epsom Salt • A hearty scoop of baking soda • A coupe tablespoons of apple cider vinegar • A handful of pomegranate seeds
• Citrine, lemurian seed quartz, and smokey quartz crystals • Rose absolute essential oil • Red rose petals • Calendula flowers • Anything else that represents love to you.

Directions:

Run a warm bath, adding the epsom salts, clay, baking soda, apple cider vinegar, pomegranate seeds, rose oil, and flower petals. Arrange the crystals around the tub, and clear your aura and your space with the smoke of cedar.

Give yourself a hug and step into the water. Dunk your head underwater. Give yourself a massage from head to to and tell your physical self how grateful you are for your strength and how much you love her. Soak in the strength of love you’ve created.
