The art that you put in your home says a lot about you—not just through its appearance but also through its story: Where does it come from, who made it, and why did you get it? Now thanks to three photography sales that benefit organizations like The Bail ProjectBlack Futures Lab, and more, you can buy prints that are visually striking and give back to a greater cause.

“With photography, I am able to evoke emotion without having to say anything,” says Micaiah Carter, cofounder of the new See in Black initiative, a collective of Black photographers using their art to dismantle white supremacy and systemic oppression. “As professional photographers, we’re able to connect with other photographers. It’s great to see everyone come together and show a vision of America, of Black America, with representation from the back end and front, as well.” The collective’s first sale launches June 19—in honor of Juneteenth—and will feature more than 70 prints by Black photographers.

Reframing the Future and The Earth Issue Freedom Fund are also hosting benefit sales, running through the end of the month to give back to bail funds and organizations that directly benefit Black communities. Below are a few of our favorite prints currently available, as well as more information about each project.

See in Black

All profits from the sale benefit five key pillars of Black advancement—civil rights, education and arts, intersectionality, community building, and criminal justice reform—through five different organizations: Know Your Rights CampYouth Empowerment ProjectNational Black Justice CoalitionBlack Futures Lab, and The Bail Project. Prints are produced by Artifact Uprising, with a price of $100 for each.

Reframing the Future

Founded by a group of creatives with the shared goal of being better allies, Reframing the Future donates all proceeds from prints to the National Bail Out and the Marsha P. Johnson Institute. Prices range from $25 to $100 per print.

The Earth Issue Freedom Fundraiser

Organized by The Earth Issue, a collective of creatives working at the intersection of fine art and environmentalism, the Freedom Fundraiser has raised more than $200,000 so far for bail funds and the U.K. youth organization 4Front Project. Its current round of fundraising donates proceeds to smaller, community-submitted charities and organizations, like Soul Fire Farm and Sustainable Brooklyn’s COVID-19 Rent Relief Fund, with a goal of sending each 5,000 pounds (a little over $6,000). Each print is priced at 100 pounds (about $125).
