If you were a design aesthetic, what would you be? That’s essentially what we asked our editors to decide when curating their product picks for our Fall issue. Executive creative director Kate Berry chose a natural vibe, inspired by her love of all things green. “I have plants all around my home, and I’ve always had a passion for collecting treasures from the environment for my decor and wardrobe,” says Berry. “This fall, I wanted to focus my energy on bringing the outdoors in.” Below, she shares her favorite “nature-with-a-twist” pieces, including utensils that look more like tree branches and bird foot–shaped candlestick holders. Time to turn over a new leaf.
If your flora needs some fauna…
This vase from Larkspur & Hawk instantly transports me to lush vistas alongside curious animals, not to mention that the whimsical design makes the greenery from my garden feel right at home.
If your snacks need an upgrade…
This graphic play on natural motifs is endlessly inspiring to me; the combination of prints is the perfect marriage between bold and chic. I can already see myself using it for appetizers at my next gathering.
If you want your candlesticks to be lit, too…
I collect brass objects, and these playful candleholders’ height and linear lines are the ideal playful addition to my tablescape. In my opinion, a little quirk never hurt anybody.
If color transports you…
These dreamy paint colors remind me of the palette at Deyrolle, my favorite curiosity shop in Paris. Light sage and bitterroot burgundy carry me back to a place that’s as cozy and familiar as my own backyard, but one I don’t get to visit nearly as often.
If your side table is calling for a spruce-up…
Wood-grain lines morphing into zebra stripes? Meet the most unexpectedly necessary decor piece of the season, a match made in a nature lover’s heaven.
If wearable art is your thing…
I can’t get enough of malachite, and this stone-inspired Whit dress is a must-have for fall. The print is almost as captivating as the mineral itself.
If regular utensils just don’t cut it anymore…
Branches aren’t usually the best cutlery, but these Ted Muehling spoons make you feel like you’re feasting in a forest. They’re the perfect partners for the soups I’m planning on whipping up this season.
If your head needs a place to rest…
The perfect autumn mix—mossy shades, leafy patterns, and textured velvet—which is found on these pillows.
If you’re dreaming of a living room in bloom…
This floral de Gournay wallpaper will remind me that warmer (and greener) days will return soon enough.
