Natalie Portman is living the dream. Not only did she star in Jackie (one of our favorite films from 2016), the actress and mom of two is also the proud new owner of an ultramodern $6.5M estate along the coast of Montecito—a dreamy beach community high in the hills of Santa Barbara.
Designed by esteemed local architectBarton Myers
, the 3,991-square-foot mansion is nestled on 10.4 acres of lush—not to mention super private—land. According to the firm’s website, the state-of-the-art home was designed with the surrounding SoCal landscape in mind. Made entirely of sustainable materials such as steel, glass, and concrete, the eco-conscious compound boasts an open indoor-outdoor layout and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean—thanks to floor-to ceiling windows in nearly every room that overlook the beach.
The house itself is divided into two wings, a residential wing that includes a living room—with retractable glass doors that open and close garage-style—a formal dining room, and a colossal kitchen that opens directly to an outdoor dining area. The second, more private wing features four spacious bedrooms, five marble bathrooms, and a library with built-in bookcases, all of which open up to either a courtyard or terrace.
And that’s not all. The property also offers a lap-pool, several gardens, multiple viewing patios, and a massive outdoor entertaining lounge—complete with a fireplace, wet bar, kitchen, and dining area (shaded by a retractable roof, no less). It’s safe to say that Portman is truly living the life, or at least living in the beach house of our dreams. Take a tour with the drone video above, created by the listing brokerage Riskin Partners.
