Attention, Fixer Upper fans: you can now vacation in a Chip and Joanna Gaines-designed rental home. Joanna announced via Instagram that the couple have finished restoring an iconic home in Waco, Texas, that will be opening to the public this fall, and it’s now available for booking.
The design duo fully renovated the historical Hillcrest Estate (which dates back to 1903) while still preserving its old world charm. One look at the interior photos and you can see this charm reflected in the details: an antique-looking bookshelf in one bedroom, a brick fireplace, and leather chairs throughout bring an old-timey feel to the property.
These more traditional design elements are balanced out by a few pops of modernity, such as the geometric copper pendant light in the kitchen or the sleek black table in the entryway.
Rates start at $995 per night. The estate has seven bedrooms and sleeps up to 12 people. There are three and a half bathrooms, plus a full kitchen outfitted with stainless steel appliances to give guests a real home-away-from-home feeling. It’s also fully equipped with modern features, including wifi and a washer/dryer set.
Chip and Joanna bought the home in 2016. A virtual tour of the residence at the time of the purchase reveals wooden floors—which, judging from the new images, seem to have made it through the renovation—and stained paneling throughout the interior, with a large back porch and chapel-gazebo also included on the two-acre property.
This isn’t the couple’s first vacation rental: They also recently unveiled Magnolia House, an eight-bedroom renovated bed and breakfast designed to mimic their farmhouse. According to the website, it’s so popular that it’s already booked for most of 2017. We can expect the same craze for Hillcrest, as booking opened August 8. You must book in two-night increments, and—fair warning—booking for the rest of the year is already filling up fast. They’ll release 2018 booking dates at a later date.
