The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family. The image features on Their Royal Highnesses' Christmas card this year. The photograph shows The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their two children at Kensington Palace. It was taken earlier this year by @chrisjacksongetty Their Royal Highnesses have also announced this morning that Princess Charlotte will attend the Willcocks Nursery School in London from January 2018. The Willcocks Nursery School has said: "We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen the Willcocks Nursery School for Princess Charlotte. We look forward to welcoming Charlotte to our nursery in January."
Royals: They’re just like us. Need proof? Prince William and Kate Middleton shop at Ikea. The couple recently revealed that they purchased furniture for Prince George and Princess Charlotte at the popular retailer.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on a royal visit to Sweden, and during a visit to ArkDes, the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design, they chatted with Marcus Engman, Ikea’s head of design, and they admitted that they have a few pieces in the children’s rooms.
Engman later shared the tidbit with reporters (h/t Vogue). We can only imagine his excitement—if we found out that there were copies of Domino in Kensington Palace, we’d plaster the news on billboards around the world.
But the fun fact raises a bunch of questions: Did they actually go to an Ikea? Did they hand pick the pieces? Did they build it themselves? Most importantly, what do they have?
After thinking long and hard about this, and browsing the entire Ikea UK children’s section, the Domino team came up with a few solid guesses as to what everyone’s favorite royal couple (can’t count Harry and Meghan yet since they haven’t tied the knot) may have purchased.
“Kate and William are practical people, so they aren’t going to go for any too wild. I’m going to put my money on this grows-with-your-kid bed, which comes in a variety of colors, or the modular Stuva/Folja storage unit because not even royalty can resist a perfectly organized bedroom with a few cute pops of color.” – Jessica Dailey, Digital Editorial Director
“A royalty-worthy wardrobe deserves an equally stylish spot to call home, right? While it may only hold only so much for now, I’m guessing this sweet pink closet will fulfill all Princess Charlotte’s (and possibly baby number three’s) dress up—and storage—needs.” – Lydia Geisel, Editorial Intern
“Maybe something from the Ikea x Hay collection? It’s very on-trend.” – Tracy Cho, Executive Director of Marketing, Growth, and Analytics
“The little royals can enjoy practicing for traditional english tea time with this adorable mini colorful tea set complete with all sorts of dishes and mugs. Too cute.” – Mackenzie Dunn, Editorial Intern
“I hope they have this cute baby kitchen! I wish I had this growing up and can totally see Princess Charlotte playing chef.” – Alyssa Clough, Social Media Editor
“I think this rug is super cute—the starry pattern adds just the right amount of personality, but the light grey color still makes it royal-approved. And of course, that little baby will be photographed so much, the stars make sense.” – Nikhita Mahtani, Digital Editor
