For a little extra inspiration, the Domino editors’ favorite Instagrammers takeover our feed each weekend. It’s safe to say tips and covetable images are aplenty. Here’s what you need to know about the most recent feature!
NYC born and bred Helen Levi is a cool girl after our own hearts. Her entrepreneurial attitude and covetable one-of-a-kind handmade pottery pieces give us hope that one day, our passion projects could turn into a full-time gig, too. And since social media has been an important tool in building her brand (if you’re not following her, you’re seriously missing out), we were more than thrilled to have her takeover our Instagram feed this past weekend.
A self-proclaimed “pot-ographer”, Levi started out in photography before making the jump to take her hobby of clay making and turn it into a full-fledged business. The skilled potter pours a lot of love into her craft, creating plates, bowls, mugs and planters that we’d love to fill our homes with. Each of her signature, handmade vessels have an organic quality, as Levi takes inspiration from pebbles, the beach, ocean, mountains, and nature in general. Her pieces are made from various colored clays and many feature effortless, swirled marble-like finishes.
Levi now spends her days in her bright studio that sits in the waterside Brooklyn neighborhood of Red Hook. Making it look all too easy, she finishes off her work with style and skill—occasionally in videos you can watch over on her Instagram! You can shop Levi’s current designs here as well as IRL in select stores across the U.S.
