With their ever-growing Target collection and impressive 13-foot Christmas tree, Chip and Joanna Gaines are no strangers to holiday spirit. In fact, with their trademark modern-farmhouse style, they’ve pretty much mastered the art of crafting a cozy home, which is perfect for the season—and in an Instagram post last night, Jo proved that they’ve even taken holiday movie night to the next level.

Movie night ✨

The family of seven (with the exception of Jo, who took the photo) all snuggled up in one bed, curled around a laptop. That scene alone is sweet enough to melt even the Grinch’s heart, but it’s an unexpected detail in the room that got us excited. In the corner of the bedroom, a full-size Christmas tree, dressed in white lights and handmade ornaments, made a beautiful addition. Jo even showed off some of her favorite ornaments on her Instagram story, and plenty of pieces featuring old family photos made the cut.

Although living room Christmas trees usually get all the priority (and the best ornaments), Jo’s more personally decorated bedroom tree has inspired us to bring some more sentimentality to our own holiday decorations. The bedroom is an extra-personal space—and that’s why family movie night (complete with a nostalgia-filled tree) feels all the more special from the comfort of one extra-large bed.
