Since I was a little girl, summer has been marked by dinners on the back deck, nightly firefly-spotting, and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This year’s event runs from July 18 to August 9, with cardholders getting access as early as July 14, depending on your status. Although I no longer shop the sale as part of an annual family trip, I still use the same trick I learned from my grandmother way back when to ensure I don’t miss out on a competitive item. Step one, though, is determining your wish list, and the sale preview went live this week. Tapping into my 20-plus years of Nordstrom deal-scoring experience, I kept my eye out for rarely-on-sale brands (Made In, Rocco) and investment purchases with hefty discounts ($200 off a Le Creuset dutch oven, anyone?).
