Modular sofas are the ultimate age-with-you buys. But often the ones that serve up the covetable combination of cool, comfortable, and easy to maintain are never actually that affordable. Silk & Snow, the Canadian brand behind well-made, budget-friendly bedroom and bathroom basics took all this into account before stepping into the living room with its latest introductions. The new Aire Modular Sofa has an enduringly effortless look that’s paired with customizable dimensions, Oeko-Tex certification, and a price that starts at just $1,300. Best of all, it can be configured in 85 different ways.
When we got a first peek at this dreamboat, which by the way ships free across the U.S. and comes with a five year warranty, we knew it would be an instant hit. Read on for all the details that make this new addition to the sofa game a serious steal.
The Aire Modular Sofa

The Inviting Silhouette
The Aire’s wide upholstered arms, sink-in cushions, and flush base make us want to sit down and stay a while. It has all the trappings of what we like to call a cloud couch, but without the hefty price tag of designer brands. Whether it’s a petite loveseat or a sprawling U-shaped sectional, each couch starts with kiln-dried wood construction that supports sag-resistant springs and high-density, two-pound foam seat cushions, and down-alternative fill back cushions. It won’t go out of style tomorrow, and also won’t feel dated in a decade.
The Configurable Shape

The number one advantage of modular sofas? Their shape isn’t set in stone. Instead of figuring out how to shimmy a specific length or width into your space, Silk & Snow wants you to configure the Aire to your liking; tinkering with the layout is encouraged. Choose from four different seat types, including Extra Wide Extra Deep, Wide & Deep, Standard, and Wide Regular Depth. Add an L-shaped lounge to the right or left side, pick up an ottoman for the Extra Wide Extra Deep or Wide & Deep sizing, or create a conversation pit with a U-shape. If your needs shift over time, you can always add or subtract portions to accommodate new quarters. When it arrives, the cushions come conveniently packed in the base, which then flips over to plop down on. Naturally, different combinations will lead to specific measurements, so always be diligent about getting accurate numbers before ordering.
You’ll see pricing between the $1,300 and $7,750 range (the largest for a deep eight-seater U-shaped sectional). But what’s cool is you can go smaller with an $800 one-seater, or even larger by just contacting the brand’s customer service.
The Resilient Fabric
As for the performance fabric covering the Aire collection, choose from ivory, soft cream, desert sand, or warm taupe. All of it is Oeko-Tex certified and water-, stain-, and wrinkle-resistant, not to mention PFAS-free and TSCA-compliant. (The brand backed this up by doing a coffee and red wine test in the office—it wiped right off.) And if you need a little extra cleaning oomph, the cushion covers are all removable and washable.
