IKEA is back with yet another designer collaboration we suspect won’t stay on shelves long. The Swedish retailer teamed up with colorist and designer Tekla Evelina Severin, also known as Teklan, on a few new pieces in the audio and lighting department. The best part? Some of the products combine both uses. These new additions seem to be a continuation of two items released earlier in the year—the ultra-portable Vappeby speaker and braided charging cables. Here’s what to know about the newcomers.
The Solskydd Speaker
There are three styles to choose from here—including pink and green stripes—and three ways to go about displaying these portable speakers (you can either set them on their accompanying base, lean them against the wall, or hang them). There’s also a multi-speaker mode, which means you can create a whole family of Bluetooth-enabled buddies. We suggest connecting two to your TV for an immersive movie night experience.
The Kulglass Speaker Lamp
Here’s a magic trick: turn this lamp on and then have it play your favorite podcast. Yes, it can do both! Completing its under-the-radar design is a Spotify Tap function that makes it easy to pick up your music (or episode) right from where you left off.
The Fado Lamp
The shape of this light has been a favorite for some time, but the pop of pink in this updated design is both warm and a little bit retro. Since the glass shade is blown by mouth, each one is slightly different in design.
