Hot sleepers who are into design have had it rough up to this point. Sure, you can swap your high-thread count sateen sheets for cooling percale, but some nights just call for a little extra airflow. That’s the dilemma: Should you sacrifice the look of your space for the comfort of a ceiling fan? Even an all-white, modern take can be an eyesore in an otherwise-zen bedroom. Hunter Fan Company wanted to find a way around the problems of waking up in a sweat or compromising your style.
Enter: the Brookside Fandelier. If you can’t tell from the name alone that this is a fan disguised within a chandelier, let us break it down for you. The clever creation is a part of HGTV designer Jasmine Roth’s collaboration with the brand. The 30-inch-wide fixture combines the air circulation of a ceiling fan with a pendant, featuring enclosed blades and integrated LED. Unless you’re underneath the piece, it reads as a traditional fabric shade.

The fan-light combo features the brand’s WhisperWind motor, which one customer attests is “almost silent” no matter which of the three speed settings you’ve selected. It also comes with a handheld remote for easy operation (to note: a few people have suggested there is a multi-second delay when switching on the light function).
There are currently three colors available—all-black, white shade with black hardware, and white shade with gold hardware—and nine rod lengths to pick from, so you can tweak it depending on the height of your ceiling. The fan is already a pretty sweet deal at $350, but you can occasionally score it for less at other retailers that carry it, like Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Wayfair.
If you haven’t been a big fan of fans up to this point, this launch might make you one.
